The journey from homelessness to having a safe place to call home is fraught with challenges, danger, indignities and trauma. The struggle is real and for the men and women that come to Community of Caring and has gone on for years. Moving from a shelter to their own apartment is changing. Imagine their level of excitement when they finally find a place to call home!
You can make the experience special for our clients by providing items to go in a Welcome Basket. The basket will be presented to them as they move into their own place. Welcome Baskets include essentials for setting up a home such as: bath towels, kitchen towels, dish soap, cleaning products, paper products, cups, dishes and of course a laundry basket to hold all the items!
Maybe you have a book club or card club that would like to do this as project, or in honor of someone on their Birthday! You can put a Welcome Basket together yourself or donate individual items and we will be happy to put one together.
