Community of Caring is an Erie based 501 c3 non-profit that provides for individuals experiencing homelessness. Community of Caring will be filing an application for funds with the DCED under the HOME-ARP Program. The funds will be for the Supportive Services.
Community of Caring provides emergency shelterto homeless men and women. The HOME-ARP Supportive Services funds will be used to reduce homelessness and increase self -sufficiency by stabilizing residents in the shelter, working through the Domains of housing, physical and mental health, employability, documentation and connections to mainstream resources.
Community of Caring will be requesting $150,000 in funding to provide:
- Level I Case Management including intake, providing shelter bed, food, clothing and personal hygiene items.
- Level II Case Management will include focusing on the Domains
- Transportation assistance to include bus passes to access work Fees for securing or renewing driver’s license
- Rent/utility assistance to help in securing permanent housing
Community of Caring participates in the County Coordinated Entry process and tracks all information in the HUD’ HMIS .( Homeless Management Information System)
